Sonneborn, Liz. "Pocahontas." A to Z of American Indian Women, Revised Edition, A to Z of Women. New York: Facts On File, Inc., 2007. American History Online. Facts On File, Inc. http://www.fofweb.com/activelink2.asp?ItemID=WE52&iPin=AIW119&SingleRecord=True (accessed August 3, 2008). This webpage I used for my project was written as a brief summary of Pocahontas’s life. The accuracy of the information within this article was a hundred percent accurate. Although Pocahontas’s life was written about in brief standards, this article was a great way for me to get an overview on her life and her history. Overall, this source was a very reliable source. The information given in this article is not in great detail, but this article sure does inform you about the basics pretty well. The author has no point of view in my opinion because every other article was somewhat like this one. Since the author’s name is not mentioned within the article or anywhere else, I cannot assume that this author is not credible, but from what I read and have come to know, I think that this is a great site for background information on Pocahontas. Gosnold, Bartholomew, John Rolfe, and John Pory. "Letters from Jamestown." In Jameson, J. Franklin .Narratives of Early Virginia. New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1907. American History Online. Facts On File, Inc. http://www.fofweb.com/activelink2.asp?ItemID=WE52&iPin=E13622&SingleRecord=True (accessed August 3, 2008). Primary sources are usually written documents and/or photos. The primary source I used was a letter to Jamestown from John Rolfe. This source was a source that I really liked because of its organization. They put the letters under separate links after briefly describing all three letters. Although there were three letters, I chose only one letter because that letter was the most relevant to the topic. The author had not any point of views because this was a primary source. He could not input biased information within. The clarity of the author’s writing is outstanding as well as very simple and short. Morenus, David. "The Real Pocahontas." http://pocahontas.morenus.org/ (accessed August 3, 2008). When doing a research project, I usually look up sources that are filled with information that is not quite interesting but truly reliable. I actually enjoyed reading this source especially because this source had a compare and contrast for Pocahontas and the movies. While I was reading, I realized information about the movie that never caught my eye. The author’s point of view was not caught by me because his website was mostly comparing and contrasting with the movies. I think this source is reliable because although it isn’t a website that is especially known for its credibility, from what I have read it is sure credible.
